For simplicity, we will refer to Ensim Pro 4.0.0 for Windows 2003 as “Ensim Pro” throughout this document.
About Ensim Pro
Ensim Pro is a software application designed to automate the deployment and management of Web services and Web sites. Ensim Pro is packaged with core Web hosting server applications and features that allow site owners to manage a range of services on their sites. These services include Web capabilities, FTP capabilities, email capabilities, and Web site security.
Ensim Pro also includes many useful administration tools, such as a file manager to help site owners work with directories and files and a user account manager to allow them to maintain the user accounts on their sites.
What’s new in Ensim Pro
Ensim Pro has been built using an entirely native Windows implementation and contains the following new features.
Server level
- Bandwidth monitoring: You can monitor the bandwidth consumed by the Web traffic of a site. You can also monitor the bandwidth used by resellers.
- Bandwidth limiting: You can limit the bandwidth consumed by a Web site. Ensim Pro also supports email notifications which are sent when the limits are exceeded.
- I18N-ready: Ensim Pro is I18N-ready which ensures that it can be easily localized for a particular region or language.

The PowerTools service and the Ensim Ignite add-on service do not support I18N, and therefore, will be displayed only in the English language.
- IP address management: You can track IP addresses used for IP-based sites by using scopes. Scopes are logical groupings of IP addresses associated with a specific subnet mask. IP addresses are automatically allocated from scopes when an IP-based site is created using the Automatic option.
- Multiple IP addresses for name-based sites: You can use a pool of IP addresses for name-based sites. Ensim Pro will use these IP addresses when it creates name-based sites.
Site level
- DNS Manager: Site administrators can manage various DNS options for their domains.
- Power Tools: Power Tools are a collection of various Web applications such as Gallery (a tool to create and maintain photo albums), PHPBB (a discussion board), and WordPress (a news and Web log tool), which you can provision for sites to make your hosting plans more attractive. Because Power Tools are automatically installed and configured by Ensim Pro, you do not have to worry about support and integration issues.

Please ensure that the MySQL service is also selected while provisioning Power Tools to any site.
- Webalizer: Ensim Pro includes Webalizer – a free Web server log analysis program. It produces highly detailed and easily configurable usage reports in HTML format for viewing with a standard Web browser.
- Advanced site information dashboard: The site administrator control panel includes a comprehensive statistical dashboard on the status and usage of key site resources.
The dashboard provides a statistical overview of the following site information:
- Site usage information
- Bandwidth information
- General information about the site and its network settings
- Status of services enabled for the site
User level
- User Web sites: Site users can create and maintain their own Web pages.
- FTP: Site users can upload or download content using FTP to a location specified by the site administrator.
- Microsoft® FrontPage®: Site users can use Microsoft FrontPage to manage the content of their Web pages.
- Multiple content uploading: Site users can modify the Web site content of the site to which they belong. This means that a Web site’s content can be controlled by multiple users.

Known issues
This section describes the known issues of Ensim Pro. The numbers in parentheses indicate the Ensim problem report (PR) number.
- FrontPage widgets do not work on a sub domain’s pages. (35801).
- You cannot disable the SSL option from a site that is being used as a shared SSL host by other sites. Currently, there is also no check to disallow deletion of the shared SSL host. (32837, 32321)
- Currently there is no check to prevent the deletion of a parked domain host. If a parked domain host is deleted, the domains parked on it are also deleted. (34464)
Known limitations
This section describes the known limitations of Ensim Pro. The numbers in parentheses indicate the Ensim problem report (PR) number.
- The Set Default Permission feature in File Manager resets all the customized permissions enabled for the site’s users.
- If the Network Properties window is open on the main or terminal session to the Ensim Pro server, you may get errors while adding IP-based sites using the Ensim Pro control panel. If you try to delete an IP-based site, the IP address will not be released from the server’s network adapter. This could lead to inconsistency if you try to provision a new site with the same IP address.
- The FTP counters returned by IIS do not always return proper data. As a result, the FTP bandwidth usage displayed in the control panel may be inaccurate. (34137)
- You cannot assign SSL certificates to the sub-domains of a secured site. (34939)
